Water treatment and humidification system
Responsibility
Life-sustaining water
Water is for us a life-sustaining substance, like food, and is treated that way by us as well – responsibly! Many years of experience have taught us that each air humidification system is only as safe and hygienic as the water that is used in it and the service and maintenance concept backing it up.
Water treatment
Even if it appears clear and pure and is perfectly suitable for use as drinking water, untreated water is still unsuitable for air humidification systems in many cases. This is because of the large number of substances in water: bacteria, germs, algae, sand, suspended particles, salts and other minerals can pose a serious threat to human health and the functioning of machines. That's why the comprehensive DRAABE water treatment system provides optimised pure water through a multilevel process and meets all the requirements for trouble-free operation and maximum health protection.
The multilevel DRAABE water treatment
The prepared soft water is cleaned through a two-step mechanical filter stage. An activated carbon filter binds chlorine compounds, organic contaminants, pesticide residue, as well as chemical compounds. Particulate matter and impurities like dirt, rust and sand particles larger than five thousands of a millimetre are held back in the micro filter.
The softened and filtered water then flows into the heart of the DRAABE water treatment system - the DRAABE PerPur pure water system. The DRAABE PerPur pure water system with its high-quality membrane separation technology produces almost completely desalinated and germ-free pure water. Desalination takes place on the principle of reverse osmosis: The salty water is pressed across a semi-permeable spiral wound membrane with the aid of a pump. Mineral substances and organic residual components, such as fungi and bacteria remain, become concentrated in the inlet chamber and will be discharged into the sewage system. With a residual salt content of 2-3%, the produced pure water is optimised to be used in air humidification.
If the DRAABE high-pressure nozzle system is used, the conditioned pure water will now be directed into the DRAABE HighPur high-pressure system. A special DRAABE bioreactor employs an additional effect-monitored UV-C irradiator to ensure that even the last remaining germs in the feed water are killed. The perfectly conditioned air humidification pure water will be atomised without lime dust, free from bacteria and germs, and without a drop at the membrane.
Service and maintenance concept
Full performance and the required pure water quality of the air humidification system can only be achieved through regular maintenance and disinfection. All DRAABE air humidification and water treatment systems therefore have a certain design principle in common: The devices can be disassembled in just seconds, exchanged and be sent off for professional maintenance at the DRAABE laboratory workshop.
The DRAABE PUR systems have been built into portable mini containers that can be connected to the pipe network with flexible quick-connect couplers. It takes just a few quick movements to disconnect the systems from the wall retainer. As part of the full-service lease package, DRAABE lease customers automatically receive a fully serviced and disinfected replacement unit every 6 months. The used device is easily returned to the DRAABE lab for maintenance. This ensures an air humidification system that is always perfectly safe to operate and hygienic.
